"Selena Gomez Opens Up About Regrets: Losing Touch with 'Wizards of Waverly Place' Co-Stars"

Pop star and actress Selena Gomez recently opened up about her biggest mistake while starring in the Disney Channel show “Wizards of Waverly Place,” which helped launch her career. In a recent episode of the “Wizards of Waverly Pod” with co-stars Jennifer Stone and David DeLuise, Gomez expressed her regret at losing touch with her former castmates.

Gomez, who played the lead character of Alex Russo on the show from 2007 to 2012, said that she was “ashamed” of past decisions and didn’t want her former co-stars to see her in a vulnerable state. “I felt safe and that’s a really hard thing for me to feel and I know that you guys love me for me,” she said. “You guys genuinely loved me and that’s all I could have asked for. The unconditional trust and bond we had I miss so much.”

Stone, who played Harper Finkle on the show, also admitted to feeling like she may have been a factor in the group’s loss of contact. “To be perfectly blunt, like you know there has been times where I’m like … ‘Did we stop being friends because I didn’t tell her what she wanted to hear,’ you know what I mean … so I appreciate you being here,” she said.

DeLuise, who played Jerry Russo, expressed his appreciation for Gomez’s candidness, saying, “That’s really sweet, and thank you for saying that. We obviously … I miss you and I’m happy you’re doing well now.”

Gomez has gone on to have a successful career in music and acting since “Wizards of Waverly Place” ended, with hit movies like “Spring Breakers” and “Getaway,” as well as her recent TV series “Only Murders in the Building.” Despite her successes, Gomez has been open about her struggles with mental health in the industry and released a documentary last year chronicling her journey.

While Gomez’s regret at losing touch with her former co-stars is undoubtedly relatable, it’s clear that the bond they shared during their time on the show was special. As Gomez put it, “I appreciate you guys … dearly and I love you so much in a way that I’ve never loved anybody else.”

Gomez’s sentiment is one that many people can relate to. As we grow older and our lives change, it can be difficult to maintain close relationships with those we once considered our closest friends. This is especially true in the fast-paced entertainment industry, where schedules can be hectic and demanding.
However, Gomez’s regret also serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining connections with the people who have been important to us in our lives. In a world where we are more connected than ever before through technology and social media, it’s easy to assume that we are staying in touch with people even when we are not.

But true connections require more than just a simple message or like on social media. They require effort, time, and a willingness to be vulnerable and share our lives with others. As Gomez’s experience shows, losing touch with people we care about can leave us with a sense of regret and a feeling of missing out on something special.

Gomez’s story also highlights the value of having a support system in our lives. The relationships we form with others can provide a sense of safety, trust, and understanding that can be difficult to find elsewhere. In a world where mental health struggles are becoming more and more common, having a network of people we can turn to for support and guidance is crucial.
